Overview

Job Description:

The Senior Consultant - MEDITECH role at DrFirst is a member of The IN Group team providing medication management and advanced clinical consulting services to hospital clients. The primary responsibility is to assist hospital clients with leveraging their HCIS (Hospital Clinical Information System) investment with specific focus in the clinical modules. Consulting assignments will include staff augmentation, interim management, project management, implementation readiness, dictionary build and support, implementation and upgrade assistance, workflow improvement, and systems optimization.

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform billable consulting services realizing 80% billable utilization
  • Perform the deliverable scope outlined in client engagement contracts
  • Work with other members of the IN Group consulting team to identify and package new consulting offerings, and to create case studies based on engagement experiences
  • Provide HCIS specific (e.g. MEDITECH) sales side assistance for opportunities matching skill set

Assist other DrFirst departments with specific clinical and healthcare workflow subject matter expertise during period a bench time (e.g. Development, Product Management, Marketing)

Qualifications

Education and Skill Set:

  • Minimum 10 years of healthcare consulting industry experience, or related experience working for a hospital healthcare provider
  • Blend of experience working in a hospital clinical department (e.g. Pharmacy), hospital IT department, and consulting industry preferred
  • Blend of experience implementing and supporting the clinical side of an HCIS (e.g. MEDITECH)
  • Proficiency in at least one HCIS (e.g. MEDITECH) with the ability to demonstrate subject matter expert capabilities in all areas of medication management and/or advanced clinical workflows
  • Clinical designation as a licensed Pharmacist or Nurse preferred
  • Must have experience analyzing current workflows and determining future state workflow
  • Strong organizational, interpersonal and communication skills, as well as, a strong understanding of information systems design, integration and functionality
  • Ability to work and collaborate with others in a cross-functional team setting.

Physical Requirements:

  • 60% Desk/phone work
  • 40% Standing/moving throughout an office or hospital environment
  • extensive overnight travel
