The Business Technical Analyst is a highly valued, critical position on our development team and requires an individual well versed in technology with the ability to articulate big picture business vision and implications to technology.  This individual will participate in scrum team’s specific to a product suite and advocate for customers and product management. These product development teams are dedicated to ensure software quality, enhance user experience for our customer, and safeguard private medical information for each patient.  The development environment fosters entrepreneurial thinking and each team member is expected to contribute substantially.  

Responsibilities

  • Assist Development team leadership with special projects that further the productivity and effectiveness of the team as needed
  • Manage a strategic relationship between the DrFirst Business Units who request functionality in the product line and the Development team members that create and deploy that functionality
  • Translate broad business requirements (given at various levels of detail) into fully detailed technical requirements ready for design and implementation by other members of the scrum team(s) in which they operate
  • Support new product development at DrFirst and also drives feature enhancements in the existing DrFirst product suite
  • Evaluates new business requirements for completeness and feasibility, works to fill gaps in understanding or completeness with the Stakeholders and participates with the development and test engineers in the agile sprints by representing the business and ensuring completeness of a software delivery against the Business requirements.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Technology, Engineering or a relevant field (Master's preferred)
  • 7+ years of IT experience with a focus on programming, system analysis or quality assurance.
  • Self-Starter, motivated candidate that has ability to grasp business requirements quickly and has problem solving skills.
  • Demonstrated work experience and success in documentation (technology writing, research papers, or thesis)
  • Demonstrated work experience with drawing wire-frames and sensitive to with usability requirements.
  • Demonstrated work experience in project management roles with internal and/or external customers.
  • Experience and comfort managing work tasks using IT systems, such as confluence (wiki), Microsoft Office suite and Visio.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
