The Senior Data Scientist will analyze large healthcare data sets and apply modern machine learning techniques for our software to “learn from itself.”  This individual will work with stakeholders to address business challenges and identify actionable opportunities through data science, and design innovative and intelligent data-driven solutions to enhance and drive company products, offerings, and services.

Responsibilities

  • Work with stakeholders to address business challenges, assess business needs, and identify actionable opportunities
  • Translate business analytics problems into technical approaches that yield actionable recommendations to enhance and drive products/solutions
  • Utilize a diverse array of technologies and tools as needed, to deliver insights and solutions
  • Work with IT for the implementation of data-driven solutions
  • Retrieve, prepare, and process a variety of data sources such as pharmacy claims, ePrescribing, and digital user experience data
  • Analyze and model structured and unstructured data and implement algorithms to support analysis using advanced statistical and mathematical methods from statistics, machine learning, data mining, and operations research
  • Perform natural language processing to mine unstructured data
  • Perform exploratory data analysis, generate and test working hypotheses, and uncover data issues, interesting trends and relationships

Qualifications

  • Passionate about data and analytics
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college/university in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, or related fields, Master / PhD is preferred
  • Minimum three-year hands-on experience in data science required
  • Experience with predictive modeling and analytics
  • Experience with record linking and word completion preferred
  • Experience with healthcare IT business preferred
  • Proficiency in analysis packages and programming languages (e.g. R, Python)
  • Ability to work across multiple engagements with stakeholders to assess needs, provide assistance, and resolve problems, using creative problem-solving skills and verbal/written communication to non-technical audiences
