Position Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Integration Engineer to join our Professional Services team having extensive experience developing and implementing solutions for integrating applications across platforms. This role will involve integrating applications into Cerner Millenium as well as other custom enterprise integrations. The ideal candidate will work closely with client clinical staff, analysts, and IT professionals to understand and develop solutions to solve complex integration problems.

What you will work on

Development and Customization

  • Design and develop custom solutions for our integrated partners using a variety of languages including JavaScript, PHP, Java, Python, CCL, SQL and other relevant technologies.
  • Work with Product, Business Analysts, and Project Managers to develop custom solutions.
  • Develop tools for integration of our products within the client’s environment.

Integration and Implementation

  • Work closely with customers to understand future state needs and, working within the team, develop automation and integrated solutions to facilitate integration between DrFirst and customer systems.
  • Ensure seamless implementation and deployment of custom solutions within clinical workflows.
  • Provide technical support and troubleshooting for integrated products and work with client teams to resolve issues.

Quality Assurance and Optimization

  • Conduct testing and quality assurance of custom development work to ensure functionality, performance, and security
  • Optimize custom solutions for performance and user experience

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
  • 7+ years related experience in integration development
  • 2+ years experience in developing custom MPages within the Cerner Millennium platform
  • Demonstrated Proficiency in JavaScript, HTML, CSS, Java, Python, and CCL
  • Understanding of network protocols and security, e.g. https, mTLS, OAuth, KeyCloak
  • Experience with Cerner integration tools and methodologies
  • Understand and follow detailed instructions and guidelines accurately
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to lead technical conversations with client teams

Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with healthcare IT and clinical workflows
  • Experience with other Cerner tools and applications
  • Knowledge of HL7 standards and healthcare interoperability

Physical Requirements

  • 90% Desk/phone remote work
  • 10% Travel

  • Competitive compensation, with a base salary of $130,000 - $150,000 (Exact compensation may vary based on skills and experience)
